Chicago Park District to host a Veteran’s Resource Fair. Veterans, active duty and military family members are invited to connect with agencies, groups and organizations that provide military and veteran assistance.

The next Town Hall meeting for veterans will be held at Jesse Brown VAMC on this Thursday, December 17th at 10 AM in the 2nd floor Conference Room. Veterans with questions about the policies, service or facilities at Jesse Brown or any of its satellite clinics should attend and ask questions of the staff and administration. 
Senator Mark Kirk held a field hearing in Chicago, as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs to question whistleblowers about the pattern of abuse at the Edward Hines, Jr., VA Hospital in Maywood, Illinois.

McDonald today announced $12.8 million in renewal funding through the Grant and Per Diem (GPD) program to 20 community agencies that currently provide transitional housing with supportive services for homeless Veterans under the Transition in Place (TIP) model.
